Julien Gaze

Portrait alumni - Julien Gaze tells us about his career path

Why did you choose Sup de Luxe?

Sup de Luxe for me is not just another training or diploma. I chose to integrate the MBA because it is the gateway to understanding a codified and confidential sector.

What is the most beautiful memory of your training?

It's difficult to sum up Sup de Luxe as a memory or a feeling, but rather as a fact, meeting an expert in the sector twice a week. The lectures with great witnesses are one of the richness of the training: talking, living and getting to know the reality in the field.

In what way have your acquired skills been useful for your professional career?

Undeniably to decipher the other side of the coin. The different Houses are dreamy, they have strong DNA and rich histories. Sup de Luxe has allowed me to distinguish between respect for this "tradition" and the need to bring modernity and agility to an often rigid organization.

Tell us about your career and its evolution from school leaving to today?

I was lucky enough to attend classes at the Maison Cartier. 7 years between the commercial development of the Haute Joaillerie and the operational structure of the offer. A demanding school but a very beautiful one. Really nothing comparable. The satisfaction of waking up each morning driven by a passion and the awareness of being privileged to see a unique know-how perpetuated around sublime creations. Since then, 2 years ago, I had the opportunity to join a new adventure, that of Marcy Paris as Sales Director. A radical change, but above all an ambitious project!

Can you introduce MARCY to us?

To sum up, Marcy Paris is a French textile design office. We design, produce and distribute image clothing - corporate wear.

We are present in the hotel and restaurant industry with the groups Accor, Barrière, Sodexo, in retail with LVMH, Richemont, Swatch, or in transport with PSA, Renault, BMW, SNCF or Michelin.

The company celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2019 and today focuses its collections on eco-responsible materials and creations made in France.

We have a showroom in Paris (near Opera) and in early 2021 we open an office in Geneva. Drop by to see us!

What can we wish you for the rest of your career?

For me to wish is to strive for something. Today I think that tomorrow's opportunities are difficult to materialize, they must be anticipated and created. My idea, to continue to take as much pleasure in each meeting, each project and especially to learn day after day. Nothing is ever taken for granted!

Explain your vision of luxury in a single sentence.

Luxury, luxuries, impossible to say if there is a single definition, a single vision. Mine, that of time: optimizing it during the week and savoring it on weekends.
